Services Tuesday for J.D. Irvin, 86

James Douglas Irvin was born November 27, 1865 and died August 25, 1952, making him 86 years, eight months and 29 days of age.

He was the son of William Irvin and Rose Ann George Irvin. He had two sisters, Mary Belle Irvin Dunbar, and Zona Irvin Wilson. Also a half brother, Henry Bernard and a half sister, Margaret Irvin Isbell.

As a young man of 19 or 20 he moved to Creelsboro, Ky where he established a general merchandise business as well as being a licensed druggist.

On December 1,1887 he married Alice Self. To this union four children were born, two of whom died in infancy. Two survive...Kenneth Irvin and Mrs. Anna Kate Irvin Buster.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 P.M., August 26, at Creelsboro, with Bro. Elvin Buster and Bro. May in charge, burial was in the family cemetery. Rippetoe Funeral Home, Russell Springs, had charge of arrangements.
