Wife of Leon Trotsky and Russian Revolutionary in her own right. Born in the Ukraine, she met Leon in Paris in 1902. The now-married couple would later work with fellow revolutionary Vladimir Lenin on the Bolshevik newspaper "Iskra". Their two sons, Lev Sedov and Sergei Sedov would both meet a deadly fate at the hands of Stalinist agents for no reason other than their relation to their father, Stalin's chief political rival. Following the assassination of her husband in 1940, she ultimately settled in France, and maintained her defense of internationalism and struggle against Stalinism and Fascism until her death. Her ashes are interred beside her husbands in the compound of their old home in Mexico.
