Robert Augur Hewitt, Jr. 1934 - 2006.

Robert Augur Hewitt, Jr. died February 3, 2006 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Family and friends will miss his broad smile, good nature, kindness and wisdom. Born at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois in 1934, Robert graduated from Pembroke Country Day School in Kansas City, Kansas, West Point Military Academy, West Point, New York and Syracuse University Graduate School, Syracuse, New York. He served his country with pride for 20 years as an officer in the United States Army.

Bob began his second career as a Financial Planner in 1976. During that time, he was President of the Santa Clara and Monterey Financial Planning Association and went on to become President of the International Association of Financial Planners in 1981-82. He founded the financial planning practice of Hewitt and Rede in 1998. He was a member of the Royal Alliance Royal Court. During the 33 years that Bob lived on the Monterey Peninsula he worked tirelessly for Family Service Agency, now Community Human Services. He served on the Board for nine y6ears. He was a member and supporter of SEEK, an interfaith religious organization whose goal is to foster greater understanding between Roman Catholics and Jews. He also served on the SCRAMP board at Laguna Seca and the Community Foundation of the Monterey Peninsula.

Robert is survived by his wife, Susan; his mother, Elizabeth Hewitt of Carmel; his children, Kimberly Aubuchon of Salinas, CA, Michael Hewitt of El Dorado Hills, CA, Cynthia Philip of Rye, NY, Robert Hewitt, III of Sonoma, CA and Maria Peaks of New Paltz, NY and their spouses; thirteen grandchildren; his wife Susan's children, Martin Brown of Hampton, VA, Michael Brown of Newport News, VA and Amanda Canning of San Diego and their spouses and Susan's four grandchildren.
His father, Robert A. Hewitt, Sr. and his sister, Suzanne H. Najafi, predeceased Bob.

Visitation will be held at The Paul Mortuary on Friday, February 10 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM followed by a Rosary at St. Angela Merici in Pacific Grove at 5:30 PM. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated, also at St. Angela Merici, on Saturday, February 11 at 10:00 AM. A Memorial Service will take place at the Arlington National Cemetery Chapel followed by interment in Arlington, where he will rest beside many family members of the Long Grey Line
