Archduchess of Austria and Regent of the Austrian Netherlands. She was the daughter of Emperor Leopold I and Eleonore-Magdalena, Countess Palatine of Neuburg. Her brother Charles VI appointed her governor of the Habsburg Netherlands in 1725, succeeding Prince Eugene of Savoy.
