Cordelia "Cordy" L. Padilla passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Fé, New Mexico on March 4, 2011 after a long illness which she bravely fought.
Cordelia was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Luján Sr., mother, Lorencita Romero Luján, sisters, Rosanna Guitérrez, Theresa Montoya and her husband, Benjamin "Bennie" Padilla.
Cordelia is survived by her son, David Padilla, granddaughter, Anna María Cardinalli, daughter-in-law, Giovanna (Jayne) Cardinalli, her brothers and sisters, Manuel Luján Jr. and his spouse, Jean, George Luján, Edward Luján and his spouse, Virginia, Zeniada Padilla and her husband, Reyes, Rita Marchi and her husband, George and Candelaria "Candy" Johnson, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cordelia was the Office Manager at the Manuel Luján Insurance Agency for all of the business career. Cordelia received numerous awards from insurance companies for her outstanding best practices contributions to the industry.
Cordelia also was active in Catholic Charities, her parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the VFW women's auxiliary.
A celebration of Life with rosary to be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at McGee Memorial Chapel at 7:00 p.m.. A Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM. Pallbearers will be Manuel Luján Jr., George Luján, Edward Luján, Reyes Padilla, Richard C de Baca, Jacobo "Jake" Baca, and Kenneth "Kenny" Montoya. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eloy Montoya and George Marchi.
