Rita Luján-Marchi, age 90, beloved and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother completed her journey on earth and entered eternal life with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.
Rita was born in San Ilefonso, New Mexico on September 7, 1925.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, George Marchi Jr., parents, Manuel Luján Sr. and Lorencita Romero Luján, sisters, Rosanna Guitérrez, Theresa Montoya and her husband, Eloy, Cordeila Padilla and her husband, Benjamin, Candelaria Johnson and her husband and Robert and brother-in-law, Reyes Padilla.
Rita is survived by sons, Frank A. Marchi and his wife, Kathleen, Michael T. Marchi and his wife, Susan, Vincent Lawrence Marchi and Janet Marchi, daughter, Jacqueline M. Baca and her husband, Candido, her sister, Zenida Padilla, brothers, Manuel Luján Jr. and and his wife, Jean, George Luján and Edward Luján and his wife, Virginia, 13 grandchildren, her 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. and funeral Mass will follow at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 833 Arizona SE, Albuquerque, NM. The Mass will be presided by Father Tom Mayefske. Interment will be at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Yvette Quintana, Andrew Marchi, Vincent E. Marchi and Martin Marchi.
