Cousin Roy was born in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Willie Frank and Minnie Lee Rhodes-Cunningham. He grew up in Buffalo, New York where he attended Public School #17 and graduated from Lafayette High School. Afterwards, he joined the United States Air Force. Because of him I later did the same.
Roy died suddenly from respiratory complications. He leaves his wife, Zola of Winder; 9 year old son Christopher; 6 year old daughter Crystal, both of Winder; 18 year old daughter Tracy and son, Lamont Roy Cunningham, Buffalo, New York; mother, Minnie Cunningham and sister Phyllis Jolly, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Internment was in the church cemetery (Appalachee Baptist Church, 258 Rabbit Hill Rd., Dacula, Ga. 30211, 770-963-8447).
