VON WIESENBERGER, Baroness Frances
86, passed away peacefully at her home in Montecito on January 10, 2002 with her son, Arthur by her bedside. Frances was born in Los Angeles, California on June 7, 1915, the only daughter of John Dudley and Fora Idele Bayes. After attending Miss Porter's School for Girls she appeared in numerous theatrical productions and motion pictures. She married Arthur von Wiesenberger, an investment banker, in New York City in 1952 and she had her only child, Arthur "Nipper" von Wiesenberger a year later. She was active with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Opera, The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden in Westchester County.
Her interest in art and philosophy resulted with numerous journeys overseas and eventually settling in Europe where she lived until moving to Montecito in 1977. Frances was also a singer and had performed Europe. Her passion with music, art and philosophy continued into her later years in California.
She is survived by her son, Arthur "Nipper" von Wiesenberger, her daughter-in-law, Leslie Sinclair von Wiesenberger, her grandchildren Alexander, Christopher and Nicholas von Wiesenberger. Among many others, her family and friends would like to thank Sylvia Wood, Norman Colavincenzo, her caregivers, Dr Anthony, Alina and, ultimately Hospice for the loving care she received during her extended illness.
