Funeral Obsequies ? The funeral services of the late Major Simeon Francis will be held this morning at 9 o?clock at his late residence, after which the remains will be taken to Fort Vancouver by the steamer Oneonta, and received there by the military escort, and buried with military honors in the military cemetery attached to the Fort.

Order of Condolence ? The following General Order in regard to the death of Major Simeon Francis, was issued from the Headquarters Department of the Columbia yesterday;
HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF THE COLUMBIA, PORTLAND, OREGON, Oct. 26, 1872
General Orders No. 15
With deep sorrow the Commanding General announces the death on the 25th instant of Major Simeon Francis, U.S. A., after a long life of usefulness, honored and respected in all the relations of official and private life.
His remains will be taken to Fort Vancouver, where they will be received and buried with appropriate military honors by the garrison of that post.
