Frederick E. Bartlett, 55 years old, an artist, died suddenly at Highland Falls, New York, yesterday. Mr. Bartlett was the son of the late Colonel W.H.C. Bartlett, for many years a Professor of Philosophy at the United States Military Academy at West Point and was born at West Point. He lived in this city until about two weeks ago at 621 West 135th Street. He had gone to Highland Falls to attend graduation exercises.
Mr. Bartlett studied for a time at West Point and also spent four years in Paris under Carolus Duran and in the south of France under Hypolite Michaud. Mr. Bartlett married Miss Viola Agnes Kampf, a manicurist of 1467 Amsterdam Avenue, whom he met in the fall of 1908 while she was employed in a barber's shop in Fourth Avenue. She was then 18 years old.
