Technical Sergeant Hayward S. Alexander served as a Radio Operator ( B17) in the 419th Bomber Squadron, 301st Bomber Group (Heavy). Hayward was Killed in Action in/during the Mission the plane was hit by FLAK and very damaged crashed in Austria, on Feb. 1, 1945, and he is honored with the Purple Heart.
