Professional Football Player. For six seasons (1979 to 1984), he played at the linebacker position in the National Football League with the Houston Oilers. He attended Permian High School in Odessa, Texas, and played collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma. While with the Sooners, under the guidance of Barry Switzer, Hunt earned all-Big Eight status three-times, and All-American status twice. He concluded his collegiate career as the school's all-time leader in tackles with 530. Hunt was selected by Houston during the 6th round of the 1979 NFL Draft, and appeared in 78 career regular season games. Following his football career, he worked in the security industry. He died from a heart attack.
