CHICOPEE - Adrien Lapierre, 79, of Royal St., died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 in Mercy Hospital. Born in Holyoke, son of the late Israel and Beatrice (Comtois) Lapierre. He was educated in Chicopee schools. Adrien worked for Nonotuck Wire Co. Adrien was a WWII Marine Corps veteran serving with the Sixth Marine Division Reinforced, 29th Marines. He served in the South Pacific, Okinawa, and received the Presidential Unit Citation, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and Rifle Marksman. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, life member, Fairview Golden Agers, and Catholic War Veterans. He is a communicant of St. Anne Church, Chicopee. Adrien is survived by his wife, Clarisse B. "Barbara" (Therrin) Lapierre; his children, Kenneth Lapierre and his wife Eileen of Chicopee, and Barbara Lapierre of South Hadley; his brothers, Raymond of Chicopee, Daniel of Long Island, Roger of Chicopee and Vincent of Springfield; his sisters, Yvette Bergeron, Florence Losty and Frances McCann, all of Chicopee; also his three grandchildren, Karen Jalbert and her husband Daniel, Jennifer Lemay, and Jason Lapierre and his wife Noel; his eight great-grandchildren, Zachary Lemay, Andrew and Katie Jalbert, Justin, Alex, Noah, Makayla and Logan Lapierre. The funeral will be held Saturday morning 9 a.m. from the Ryder Funeral Home of South Hadley followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Anne Church, Chicopee with burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
