Curate and Schoolmaster. Married three times, outliving every wife, he lived and taught at the 'Priest's House', an annexe of the church which was probably built following a 1617 bequest. He was the last schoolmaster, his establishment closing upon the construction of a proper local school in 1877. Hornsby is remembered today in the name of the comprehensive school which sits at the foot of the hill where he and his wives are buried.
