Born July 9, 1903, in Owen County, he was the son of Emerson White and Sarah J. (Clark) White.
Mr. White was a retired farmer and school bus driver for the Coal City School. He was a member of the Coal City Community Bible Church.
During the 1920's Mr. White played in an orchestra that traveled the midwest. He was accomplished saxaphone and banjo player.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Evelyn Wall of Rural Route 2, Coal City and one son , James F. White of Clay City; one sister, Mrs. Mollie Bonniewell of Peoria, Illinois; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice (Thatcher) White on July 15, 1991; his parents, four sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral services were Wednesday, January 13 at Welch and Cornett Worthington Chapel. Pastor Leroy Freeman officiated.
Interment was at the Pleasant Bethel Cemetery, located north of Worthington.
