Mrs. Alice Crain, 97, of 301 Oakwood Drive, Enid, Okla., died Friday, July 25 in an Enid hospital. She was the mother of Orville Crain of Perryton and grandmother of Mrs. Marvin Felix of Perryton.
She was also an aunt of Carl Carter of Waka and Oliver Carter of Perryton.
Born October 23, 1882, in Clark County, Missouri, she moved with her parents when she was seven years old to a farm near Cheney, Kansas, and when she was 13, they moved to Goltry, Okla.
She married John L. Crain in 1900. To this union was born four children, including Mrs. Russell (Elva) Evans of Nash, Okla,; Mrs. Levi (Ivy) Evans, Tonkawa, Okla.; Mrs. Russell (Edna) Jones of Enid, Okla., and Orville Crain of Perryton.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1938. Her daughter, Elva died in 1979.
She was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church of Enid and was a lifetime member of United Methodist Women, taught the Worthwhile Sunday School class until it disbanded.
Survivors in addition to two daughters, and son include a sister, Mrs. Howard (Jewell) Gosnell of Enid, son-in-law Russell Evans of Nash, Okla., sister-in-law, Lura Wilson of Carmen, Okla.
There are 17 grandchildren, including Mrs. Orrana Felix of Perryton; 40 great-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Crain lived to see her daughter Ivy celebrate her 59th wedding anniversary and her daughter Elva's 56th wedding anniversary, her son Orville's 50th wedding anniversary and daughter Edna's 48th anniversary.
She was alert and enjoyed her life, family and friends.
