Mrs. Maude B. Collins

Mrs. Collins was born in LaFayette County, Miss., Jan. 17th, 1861, and attended College at Oxford, Miss., where she was a member of the Alpha Beta Tau Sorority. She joined the M. E. Church, South, when eleven years of age and remained a faithful member until the end. Later she married Dr. George H. Collins. The family moved to Davis in the year 1895 and remained in Davis until the year 1908, when they moved to Oklahoma City. While living in Oklahoma City, she was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Johnson, of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. D. A. Anderson of Davis, Oklahoma, and by three brothers, Andy Coffey and Will Coffey, of Myrtle, Miss., and B. B. Coffey of Nashville, Tenn.

She was the mother of nine children, five daughters and one son surviving her, namely, Mrs. Harry S. Douglas, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Louis L. Emery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Fred T. Stalder, Coalgate, Oklahoma; Mrs. Page H. Belcher, Enid, Oklahoma; George H. Collins, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mrs. John P. Hampton, Chicago, Ill., all being present at the funeral, which was conducted in the beautiful Methodist Church at Davis, Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12th.

Loving friends tenderly laid her away in the cemetery at Davis beside her husband who passed on more than thirteen years ago. She fell on sleep in Oklahoma city, Sept. 10th, 1926. Truly a good woman has left us but not gone far.

"A little while to love,
A little while to weep,
With hope of Heaven above,
And then to fall asleep."

Card of Thanks

We wish to thank our many loving friends, especially the Women's Home Missionary Society, Bro. J. F. Hendrey, Mrs. N. L. Hale and the members of the Special Choir, for their many kindnesses and flowers. Words can not express our appreciation of the many favors received by us in our great loss of mother and sister.
