Duchess of Abercorn. She was the wife of James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn, and the daughter of John Russell, 6th Duke of Bedford, by his second wife Lady Georgina Gordon. She was the mother of Lady Louisa Jane Montagu Douglas Scott, Duchess of Buccleuch & Queensberry, and therefore the paternal great grandmother of HRH Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, and the maternal 2nd great-grandmother of HRH Prince William of Gloucester and HRH Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester. Louisa and James had fourteen children.
