Sudden Death of D. Straw
The following dispatch was received this morning
Cary, O. April 25, 1890
J.W. Chamberlin: David Straw died at 6:30 a.m.

The deceased was a prominent citizen of Cary and well known in this city and county. The following is a short sketch of his life:
David Straw was born in Pitt township, Wyandot County, O., March 26, 1826 and was one of the wealthiest and most prominent business men of Wyandot County. March 25, 1852, he was united in marriage to Lucy A. Turner and seven children blessed this union. Mrs. Straw died in 1870 and two years later, Mr. Straw married Margie V. Kirtland and three children were born to this union. He was one of the founders of the People's Bank of Carey and in 1872 purchased the entire interests and at his death, the bank was under the sole control of Mr. Straw with his son, Harry Straw, as cashier. He and his son were also engaged in handling grain and seeds. Mr. Straw was a pioneer resident of Wyandot County and in his death, Carey looses one of its most influential business men.
