His first wife was Norma Elmina Bozarth, the daughter of Dr. John Wesley Bozarth and Mary Etta Templeman. They were married August 22, 1919 in Lexington, Dawson County, Nebraska. Their son, Cud Thomas Baird, III was born January 28, 1921 in Bellevue, Pennsylvania. Norma Elmina Bozarth Baird died on May 20, 1925 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. She was buried in Mt. Pulaski Cemetery in Mt. Pulaski, Logan County, Illinois where her mother was buried in 1904 and her father in 1931. Cud T. Baird, Jr. later married Maude (Reeve) Harvey and Beulah (Hope) Fulton.
