Adelia Lucille Larsen Hancock, 86, died Aug. 5, 1998 at Jordan Valley Hospital.
Born Jan. 27, 1912 in Castledale, Utah to Hyrum S. and Dora Acord Larsen. Married Kenneth S. Hancock, Dec. 21, 1933. She was from a family of 12 children and spent most of her live in Standardville, Utah. She worked in a miners boarding house, also at the old Sons of Utah Pioneer Museum as a hostess; at Woolworths; and was owner of Duck Inn in Murray. She loved to sing and recite poetry, and enjoyed planting, caring for flowers. Survivor of breast cancer for 21 years. She had a great way of accepting things, with her losses and illnesses, she never complained. Adelia was a dainty, tiny smiling lady.
Survived by daughter, Lynne and Thomas Fairborn Jr.; grandchildren, Tom and JoEll, Ken and Cathi Fairbourn, Alison and Justin Bennett; great-grandchildren, Tommy Four, Tony, Cameron, and Kendra Fairbourn, Brody, Mackinzie, and Frank Bennett; brothers, Wally and Orr Larsen; sisters, Helen Maxwell and Sylva Ellis; sister-in-law and friend, Edith Larsen. Preceded in death by son, Kenneth; her husband, Kenneth Sr.
Graveside Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 to 12 noon at the Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 West, Riverton.
