Catha Shockey, a resident of Eugene, Oregon, formerly of San Bernardino for 44 years, passed away on August 30, 1997 at the age of 90. She was born August 27 in Half Rock, Missouri, and had also been formerly of Trenton, Missouri, Redondo Beach and Vallejo, California. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, fishing and living the Pioneer Spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert to whom she married September 27, 1924 in Missouri. She was a homemaker for 73 years and was survived by her son, Melvin Shockey of San Bernardino, two daughters, Joanne Evans of Colton and Julia Ann Vargas of Eugene, Oregon, sister Mary Adkisson of Paradise, California, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. Memorial Service on Thurday, September 4, 1977 at 10 a.m. at Montecito Memorial Chapel with burial at Montecito Memorial Park.
