Voluntary Infantry Co K. Enlisted Aug 27, 1862, Mustered Sept 25, 1862, Binghampton, NY, discharged June 8, 1865, as his unit was mustered out. He was part of a unit that took part in the Battle of Gettysburg July 1-3, 1863, (ncluding taking part in the critical battle to old Culp's Hill the night of July 2, 1862 under Col. David Ireland. The infantry also took part in the Seige of Atlanta, Battle of Lookout Mountain, Assault on Kenesaw Mountain, and other crucial battles.
