George E. Moriarty, 89. for many years owned and operated a grocery store at the corner of North 6th St. and Miami Ave., died at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Deer Creek nursing home. Mr. Moriarty, a native of Logansport, died after a six weeks' illness. Final rites are pending at the Fisher funeral home.
He was born in this city on January 1870. He married the former Fanny Logan April 4, 1901. They formerly lived at 228 E. Miami Ave., but she now is at the Deer Creek home. Mr. Moriarty was a member of the Elks lodge.
Survivors include, in addition to his wife, two nieces, Mrs. Helen Collier, of Terre Haute and Mrs. Alice White, of Arlington, Va.
Friends may call at the Fisher funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
