Deacon Michael Markulike entered eternal life on Tuesday October 21, 2008. He was 81 years old. Deacon Markulike was born on March 31, 1927 and ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 12, 1982. He had served as a deacon at St. Dunstan Parish, Garden City.
Deacon Markulike was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Nellie. He is survived by two daughters, Michalene Costello and Joyce Henry; and a son, Jim.
Visitation: Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 4-9 p.m., and on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 12 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Santeiu Funeral Home, 1139 Inkster, Garden City (734-427-3800)
Deacon Markulike's body will lie in state on Saturday, October 25, at St. Dunstan Parish, 1526 Belton, Garden City, from 9:30 a.m. until the celebration of his funeral Mass at 10 a.m.
Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
