Perry W. Carter, 64, of San Mateo, California, died suddenly August 11, 1995 at home following a brief illness.

Mr. Carter was born in Fairfield Township to the late Hopewell and Lethia Carter. He was raised in the Elmer area and attended Monroeville Grammar School and was a 1949 graduate of Woodstown High School.

He was a teacher/counselor with the San Leandro Unified School District, a USMC veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Post #82 of San Mateo, San Mateo Elks Lodge #1112 B.P.O.E. and San Mateo Golf Club.

Surviving are his wife, Eugenia; a son, Perry Carter; daughters Kathleen Harkins and Janet Carter; a grandson, Patrick Harkins; a sister, Evelyn Schroeder; brothers, John Carter and Donald Carter.

He was predeceased by a brother, Leroy Carter, in 1982.

Funeral services were held August 15 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, San Mateo, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, California.
