Anne M. (Kopunek) Sadofsky, 91, of Metuchen, died Thursday, January 25, at the Haven Hospice Pavilion at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Lansford, PA to the late Vincent and Mary Kopunek, she moved to Metuchen in 1949 after marrying her husband, John. Anne worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Clares Hospital in New York City, the Rehabilitation Hospital in North Brunswick, and Dr. Abraham Thalers office in Iselin. She later moved to the West Palm Beach area of Florida. She was a Communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and a member of the Metuchen Elks Lodge #1914 and the Slovak Catholic Sokol. Anne loved her trips to Atlantic City with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John (1987); four brothers, Rev. Vincent Kopunek, Joseph Kopunek, Rev. Martin Kopunek and Stephen Kopunek; and a sister, Mary Sikorsky. She is survived by her two sons, John and his wife Susan of Metuchen, and Michael and his wife Lori of Metuchen; three grandchildren, Stephen, Eric, and Matthew; sister-in-law Justine (Tina) Kopunek; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 9:45 am from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27) Metuchen, followed by a 10:15 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-4 pm.
