Television Presenter, Journalist and Producer. He is well-known for his work on the investigative journalism television show called "Carte Blanche." During the 1970s, he worked for the The Rand Daily Newspaper after studying at Rhodes University. He also reported on the Soweto Uprising snd the passing of anti-Apartheid activist Steve Biko. As a young journalist, Watts became dedicated to exposing injustice. In the 1980s, he pivoted to broadcasting after the arrival of independent television in South Africa. In 1988, he helped launch "Carte Blanche" on M-Net. He served as its anchor for 35 years. In the 1990s, he provided provided context during South Africa's transition to democracy.
