Actor. He was best known to both television and film viewers for the numerous character roles he had during a career that spanned eight decades. After being raised in the United States, he returned to England and trained in acting at the Royal Academy of the Dramatic Arts. He later studied under Lee Strasberg in New York City. He made his acting debut in the 1953 film "Titanic." He would go on to appear in such films as "1776," "All the President's Men," "The Concorde...Airport 1979," "Freedom Strike," "Con Man," and "The Deep Ones." That same year, he made his television debut on the series "Your Favorite Story." His later television credits would include such series as "Naked City," "Young Dr. Malone," "Our Private World," 'Charlie's Angels," "Hart to Hart," "The Rockford Files," "Dallas," "Another World," "The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo," "Simon & Simon," "One Life to Live," The Facts of Life," Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Santa Barbara," and "The Bay." He also appeared on the theatrical stage in various productions.
