Major League Baseball Player. For nine-seasons (1960 to 1967 and 1969), he played at the third base, short stop and second base positions with the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds. Born Miguel Angel de la Hoz, he attended Guines Institute in Cuba prior to being signed as an amateur free agent by the Cleveland Indians in 1958. He made his Major League debut on July 22, 1960 and played in 49 games that season. In 1964, while with the Milwaukee Braves he produced a career-high 55 hits with a .291 batting average. In 494 career regular season games, he compiled 280 hits, with a .251 lifetime batting average.
