Musician. Born Pablo Milanés Arias in Bayamo. At the age of 7, he and his family moved to Havana, and he began his music career at a young age. After being released from a labor camp, he went on to continue his music career and became one of the most famous musicians in the Nueva Trova movement. He went on to release his first solo album and worked with famous Cuban musicians such as Noel Nicola and Silvio Rodríguez. He also wrote songs for films such as "Un Señor Muy Viejo Con Unas Alas Enormes" (1988) and toured outside his homeland in countries such as the United States, Russia, and Germany. In 2004, he moved to Spain to reside with his family and continue his music career. In 2015, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Latin Grammys for his contributions to music.
