Cabaret Artist, Actor. Moved to Milan in 1957, he made his debut in the famous Derby Club in 1972, together with Diego Abatantuono, Teo Teocoli, Massimo Boldi, Giorgio Faletti and others. He was launched by Gianfranco Funari, then a cabaret artist, who made him participate, with his group "I mormoranti", in the show "Da dove vieni tu?". Success came in 1977, with a show, "La Tappezzeria", written by Enzo Jannacci and Beppe Viola, where he invented the character of the terrunciello, or the southern transplanted to the north which is expressed in a completely invented dialect between Apulian and Lombard. In the same period, he joined the Repellente Group, created by Enzo Jannacci and Beppe Viola, together with Diego Abatantuono, Massimo Boldi, Mauro Di Francesco, Giorgio Faletti and Ernst Thole. In 1979, on Rai Network 1, he hosted "Lo mangeresti un cagnolino?", a column within the afternoon program for children "3, 2, 1, contatto!", a program divided into several episodes, which deals with dietary prejudices; among the unusual things that Porcaro tries to make passers-by taste, there are ant jam and posca, a vinegar-based drink used by the ancient Romans. In the cinema Porcaro appears in some films between the end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties, until his sudden exit from the scene in 1985. He died at the age of 49 of a bone tumor at the hospital of Monza, where he had been hospitalized for some time. He was cremated, and the ashes buried in a cell of the Cimitero Maggiore in Milan.
