Olympic Gold Medalist. He was a Norwegians professional football Player, Professional gymnast, as well as an Olympic Gold Medalist. He was born one of five children in Oslo, Norway, to Jon Gundersen Hol and his wife Karen Pedersdatter Hol Strøm on March 19, 1883. He was also known as Petter Hol. He was a professional football player who was a member of the club Odd BK (or Odds Ballklubb), of Skien, Norway, and Norwegian Football Champion in 1903, 1904, and 1905. He was also a professional gymnast who was a member of the club Oslo Turnforening of Oslo, Norway. He would eventually go on to represent his home country of Norway at the 1906 Intercalated Games that were held in Athens, Greece. Together with his team members that included Carl Albert Andersen, Oskar Bye, Conrad Carlsrud, Harald Eriksen, Osvald Falch, Kristian Fjerdingen, Yngvar Fredriksen, Karl Haagensen, Andreas Hagelund, Harald Halvorsen, Eugen Ingebretsen, Per Jespersen, Finn Münster, Frithjof Olsen, Carl Alfred Pedersen, Thorleif Petersen, Rasmus Petersen, Thorleiv Røhn, and Johan Stumpf, he was part of the Norwegian men's gymnastics team which captured an Olympic Gold Medal in the Team All-Around Competition Artistic Gymnastics Men's Event. His final team standing score result was ranking 1 with 19.00 points. He also represented his home country of Norway at the 1908 Summer Olympics that were held in London, England. His final team standing score result was ranking 2 with 48.55 points. He also competed in the Individual All-Around Men's Gymnastic Events where his final ranking was 14 with 80.75 points. He continued to represent club Oslo Turnforening, of Oslo, Norway, and be active in sports events until his death. He later moved to Canada and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he spent his final years. He passed away in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on June 22, 1981, at the age of 98, and his body was returned to his native Norway where it was buried in Vestre Gravlund in Oslo, Norway, and where several other famous Norwegian personalities are also laid to rest.
