Actor, Screenwriter. He was a talented actor of both stage, film, and television, best known for playing the roles of the average joes and other characters. He will be best remembered for his role as 'Elje Ström' in the drama film, "Kejsaren" (1979). The film which was written and directed by Jösta Hagelbäck, and which also starred Bo Lindström, Emy Storm, Peter Lindgren, and Jan Jönson, tells the story of the historical and political background to "Kejsaren" which is the Swedish import of foreign polish farm labor in the early 1900s. The Swedish farm workers protested against this, with hate and racism. Elje Ström is the son of a Swedish farm worker and a Polish woman. He is mentally handicapped and bullied, longing for his mother, who was returned to Poland. Nazism is spreading over northern Europe. Elje travels to Poland to find his mother. Scammed by pimps and whores, beaten and despised, he is returned to Sweden by the police. He is admitted to St. Lars mental hospital in Lund/Malmö, Sweden. Here, at St. Lars, Elje becomes "Kejsaren" partly influenced by Hitler. He meets with love and understanding from a Polish orderly. She looks and feels a lot like his mother. In a fit of psychotic madness, he kills the orderly. The film "Kejsaren" (1979), was nominated and won him the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance as 'Elje Ström' at the 15th Guldbagge Awards which were held by the Swedish Film Institute at the Operakällaren Restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden, on September 24, 1979. He made his actual film debut playing the role of 'Carpenter' in the drama film, "Långt borta och nära" (1976). Besides, "Långt borta och nära" (1976), and "Kejsaren" (1979), his many other film credits include, "Fia i folkhemmet" (1977), "Mannen som blev miljonär" (1980), "Lycka till" (1980), "Höjdhoppar'n" (1981), "Skärp dig älskling" (1981), "There Is No Need To Worry" (1981), "Brusten himmel" (1982), "Spioner finns dom?" His many television appearances include, "Filmkrönikan" (1979), "Spanarna" (1983), and as 'Symfontratt' in three episodes of the animated children's television series, "Ronny & Julia" in 2000.
