Russian actress. She is the daughter of the famous Russian silent film star Vladimir Bestaev. She attended All-Union State Institute of Cinematography for her formal training and graduated in 1961. She made her debut in 1958 in a film titled "Sailor from the Comet" in the lead female role as Lena. She was also a stage actress at Theater Mossovet in Moscow. Some of her film works included "A Man Follows the Sun" (1961), "Seven Old Men and One Girl" (1968), "Day Train" (1976) and a 1996 documentary mini-series "Broadway of Our Youth," but she is most memorable as Palagna in Sergei Paradzhanov's "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (1964). In the theater some of the shows she appeared in were "Cricket" (1962), "Options are Possible" (1975) and "Moral of Mrs. Dulskaya" (2006). Altogether she appeared in over 45 productions during her career that ran from 1958 until 2021. For all her hard work she received the Order of Friendship state award in August of 1998, the People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1990, the Honored Artist of the RSFSR in 1976 and a Laureate of the theatrical prize "Theater Spring" in 1985 for the role of Capa in the play "The Widow Steamer."
