Mongolian Statesman. He was a Mongolian politician and diplomat who served as the chairman of the Presidium of the People's Great Khural from July 7, 1954, to May 20, 1972. He became a clerk in local and provincial administrations starting at the age of 16. After the Mongolian Revolution of 1921, he joined the Mongolian People's Party and later served in various government positions before being appointed ambassador to the Soviet Union in 1937. He returned to Mongolia after World War II and went on to serve as ambassador to North Korea and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. In 1954, he was named Chairman of the Presidium of the People's Great Khural, the titular head of state position, and served in this position until 1972, when he died from cancer.
