She graduated from Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in 1980 and was a permanent employee of the National Theatre since 1992. She won 3 Amanda awards. At the time of her death she was not married but had 2 sons. She passed away at Økernhjemmet, a nursing home in Oslo after a long period of illness.
