Spouse of the Prime Minister of Malaysia. She was the wife of Tun Hussein Onn, the third Prime Minister of Malaysia. Born in Muar, Johor, she was the daughter of Mohamed Noah Omar, who served as the first Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat. Her younger sister Rahah Noah is also married to a Malaysian Prime Minister, as the wife of Abdul Razak Hussein. She attended the Sultan Abu Bakar Girls School (SABGS) in Muar, and at the Temenggong Ibrahim Girls School in Batu Pahat. During a UMNO fund-raising concert, she and her took part and performed a traditional Malay wedding. She acted as the bridegroom and caught the attention of Hussein Onn, who was then a young army captain who had just returned from training. They would soon be engaged while she was still at school. In 1948, they married and had six children together. She accompanied him to London to study law at Lincoln's Inn. She returned to Malaya in 1959 without him since she needed to care for their children. The couple reunited the following year, when he passed his law finals and became a certified lawyer. Her husband served as Prime Minister from 1976 to 1981. During that time, she founded the Badan Amal dan Kebajikan Tenaga Isteri-Isteri (Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers, BAKTI) in 1977, an organisation she led until 1981. In 1990, she was awarded the title Tun by the Malaysian federal government.
