She is survived by her niece, Darlene (Donald) Smith, and nephew William (Angelyn) Sander, and dear friends Mary Ibach, Betty Warden and Irena Pickens.
Some of her most treasured memories of childhood were sleeping overnight at the Ford home and having tea with Mira Edison in her rose garden.
After graduating from Fort Myers High School, she was employed by Prather's Laundry, where she worked her way to Manager. Later she attended business school and became a legal secretary to attorneys Frank Watson and Fred Mellor, where she remained for several years.
Audrey married Reber M. Bell in 1952. They divided their time for many years between Fort Myers and Circleville, Ohio, her driving and him flying his Cessna plane. After about twenty-five years they made Fort Myers their permanent home. Reber preceded her in death in 1992.
Audrey was known for her faith in God as well as her caring, kindness and compassion. She took several friends into her home during illnesses or their last days, and prepared food, shopped and did chores for countless others. Her constant concern and helpfulness to those in need made her loved and admired by so many. She was also known for her gifts of hundreds of handmade gold ribbon roses and of gifts of white Bibles to brides and new babies.
Her condo was a delight for visitors, especially for children, as she kept it beautifully decorated for Christmas year-round with scores of teddy bears, angels and dolls, many lighted and in motion.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Woman's Community Club and the Edison Pageant of Light. She also volunteered her time for years as a Red Cross nurse's aide at Lee Memorial Hospital and in Circleville.
She especially loved animals, and the several white miniature poodles she and Reber cherished over the years who were considered their precious "children."
Audrey will be sorely missed by all who who knew her. Special friends Mary Anne and Bill Waldenmeyer drove nonstop from Little Rock, Arkansas, and then back home immediately just to take her out to dinner on her 95th birthday.
She loved life but has long looked forward to being with her beloved Reber again.
Immediate funeral ceremonies are private. Audrey's final care is under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery during a private ceremony held at an undisclosed date and Audrey will be laid to rest alongside her dearly departed husband Reber inside the Mausoleum located at the Chapel of Memories
