Politician. He was a Canadian lawyer and politician. His parents were Joseph and Marie Dubuc. He married Maria Anna Hénault of St. Cuthbert, Quebec in June of 1872. They had ten children together. He graduated from law at McGill University in 1869. After he was called to the Quebec Bar, he went to Winnipeg, Manitoba to join Louis Riel's provincial government. He was elected in December of 1870 to the first Manitoba Legislature, representing St. Norbert. He was re-elected in 1874 and then served as the Attorney General from 1875 to 1878 and the Speaker. He was a member of the First Convocation of the University of Manitoba in 1877. He was appointed to the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench. He became a Chief Justice in 1903 and retired in 1909. He died on January 7, 1914 while living in Los Angeles, California. He is buried at the St. Boniface Cathedral Cemetery. Dubuc Street in Winnipeg is named in his honor.
