Mrs. Irene N. Bagby, 52, Thursday at her home. 721 Occidental Ave., San Mateo, after apparent heart attack. She was a native of Vladivostok, Russia, and had resided San Mateo since childhood after her parents. Col. Leon Nicolai and Nathalie Nicolai had escaped from Russia in 1922 after the Bolshevik takeover. Col. Nicolai. for many years, was the recognized head of the Russian community in the Bay Area and had represented the White Russian people of United States before government agencies. He died early this year. Mrs. Nicolai became a successful fashion designer and manufacturer in San Francisco and New York, operating the firms of Mode de Paris Nathalie Nicolai Co. Mrs. Bagby is survived by mother; two sons. Earl and Ronald of San Mateo; a daughter, Mrs. Nathalie Trevor of Burlingame; and five grandchildren. Russian Orthodox Panachida services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at N. Gray Mortuary at Post and Divisadero streets in San Francisco. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church at Green Street and Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, with interment at Serbian Cemetery in Colma.
