BOONVILLE - Mrs. Allie J. Jackson, 85, widow of Ward R. Jackson died Tuesday afternoon at the Sunset Nursing Home, Constableville, where she had been a patient for two weeks. She had been in failing health for some time and seriously ill for the past month.
She was born on the Jones homestead farm near Talcottville on September 10, 1878, the daughter of Handley and Lydia Butts Jones and her entire life had been spent in the area north of the village of Boonville.
She was a graduate of Boonville High School and before her marriage on Oct. 8, 1903, at her home, she taught in area schools.
After their marriage the couple settled on the large Jackson farm north of Boonville where she resided until ill health forced her to enter the hospital. Mr. Jackson died Aug. 7, 1961. The farm is now being operated by her son Bela.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Boonville Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Sara) Overholt, Mattituck, L.I., three sons, Bela and Handley E., both of Boonville and Arthur W., Lake Placid; nine grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
A daughter Clara, died in 1922, and another daughter, Harriett, died in infancy.
