Burley J. Cropper, 77, of Milford in Caroline County passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Cardinal Village in Fredericksburg. Born in King George, he had retired as Captain with the Caroline County Sheriff's Office after 31 years of service. Burley served in the Virginia Army National Guard, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Kilwinning-Crosse Masonic Lodge #2-237 AF&AM. He loved fishing and farming, but most of all he loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Margaret Cropper; his daughters, Sharon Haring (David), Brenda Jett (John) and Debbie Loving (T.J. preceded in death); two sisters, Christine Garrett and Frances Heflin; his brother, Leon Cropper; three grandchildren, Joshua Jett, Jennifer Loving and Bryan Haring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held Saturday. September 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
