Grace Adkins Preiss was born in 1902 in Bement Illinois to Charles and Dora Ellen Farrow Adkins. She married technical Sergeant, Clarence Preiss, the son of Robert Preiss of LaGrange, Illinois in the parsonage of the park Lutheran Church. Grace worked in the savings department of the Oak Park Trust and Savings Bank where Sergeant Preiss was the Vice President in charge of trusts in peace time. At the time of the marriage, Sergeant Preiss was in the ferry division of the Air Transport Command in Reno, Nevada. Grace died on December 8, 1953 at 3:20 p.m. in West Suburban Hospital, Oak Park, Illinois. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Preiss: three brothers; Ben of Decatur, Roy of Montclair, N.J., Howard of Decatur, and Mrs. Martha Wallbaum of Galesburg.
