Actor, Animator, and Filmmaker. He joined the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) in 1944. A year later, he created animated cut-outs set to the songs "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze" and "My Darling Clementine." Afterwards, he briefly left the NFB to work with another company from 1947 to 1951. Shortly after his return, he co-starred with Jean-Paul Ladouceur in the anti-war short film "Neighbours" (1952), which won an Academy Award and a Canadian Film Award. Likewise, he also collaborated with Norman McLaren on the films "Two Bagatelles" (1952), "Canon" (1964), and "Christmas Crackers" (1963). Plus, he also worked with George Dunning on his television cartoons, and even worked at the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry for two years. He retired from the National Film Board in 1998. In 2008, Governor General Michaëlle Jean made Munro an officer of the Order of Canada.
