Actor. Born Isadore Borsuk, he was a former child star best known in the 1930s. His family moved to California around the time when motion pictures had come out of the silent era. He began singing in nightclubs as a small boy. In 1936, he starred in the first of seven RKO Radio Pictures movies, "Let’s Sing Again"and later went on to appear in the 1930s movies "Rainbow on the River", "Make a Wish", "Hawaii Calls", "Breaking The Ice", "Fisherman's Wharf", "Way Down South" and "Escape to Paradise". After he appeared in "Escape to Paradise", his voice started to change due to puberty and he retired from show business. Because of his popularity, he was brought back to the silver screen for the movie "Johnny Doughboy" in 1942. He also signed a contract with Decca records and had moderate success as a singer. He enlisted in to the United States Army during the Second World War. He and fellow Hollywood actor Mickey Rooney were soon assigned to entertain the troops, despite him having retired from show business. He was hospitalized in France in 1945 towards the end of the war. For his war efforts, he was awarded the Bronze Star. During the 1950s and 1960s he worked as singer and a musical performer, but wasn't as popular as he once was. He later became the owner of a talent agency in Florida.
