Karen Rinehart, 58, of Frankfort, passed away 10:40 a.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the Adena Regional Medical Center.

She was born November 20, 1959 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to John E. and Barbara Harness Herrnstein.

She is survived by two children; a granddaughter; four siblings; fourteen nieces and nephews; eight grandnieces and nephews; special friend, Jeff and her beloved loyal friend, Homer Dog. She was predeceased by a son, Dustin W. Rinehart and her father, John E. Herrnstein.

Karen was a 1977 graduate of Chillicothe High School and Ohio University School of Nursing. She was an organ donor, a loving mother and daughter with a great sense of humor and loud infectious laugh. Karen was involved with the Summer Lunch Program for the kids in the neighborhood where she was known as "mom/meme". She was a Cub Scout Leader, Adena Band Booster mom and she enjoyed walking Homer Dog sewing, crafts, and scrapbooking.

Calling hours will be held at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018. A private burial will be held at a later date in Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Food Bank, 255 N. Woodbridge Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
