Mary Helen Hettman
HAVRE – Mary Helen (LaJimodiere) Hettman, 73, a longtime Havre resident, died of natural causes Sunday at a Billings hospital.
Funeral Mass is 11 this morning at St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre. Burial is 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery in Glasgow. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or Diabetes Association.
She was born March 16, 1924 in Medicine Lake. In 1940 she married Stanley C. Hettman in Medicine Lake. They lived in Havre for 34 years and had recently moved to Glasgow.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, UTU Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Democratic Party, St. Jude Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, camping, traveling, and playing bingo and pinochle. In 1950 she was selected “Queen for a Day” on the Bob Barker Radio Show.
Survivors include her husband of Glasgow; four daughters, Mary Newcomb of Houston, Rita Donovan of Billings, Diana Olson of Miltona, Minn., and Jacqueline Hanson of Choteau; a sister, Marian Wells of Havre; a brother, Leonard LaJimodiere of Bryan; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Zimmer and an infant daughter.
