In her book " Ancestors and Descendants of Benjamin Futral and Nancy Smith Futral", author Josephine Trowbridge writes that Benjamin Futrall is believed to be the son of Thomas Fewtrell and his wife Ann (this is also spoken of by author Roger H. Futrell in his book the "Futrell Family Revised" pg. 13). Author Josephine Trowbridge also writes that Benjamin was born (about: 1705) in Surry County, Virginia and that the name of his wife was MOURNING.

As to Benjamin Futrall, I have seen two copies of his Will at Ancestry.Com ( one records his surname as FUTRALL and the other as FUTRAL ); Benjamin's Will was written on (20 October 1784) in Northampton County, North Carolina and probated in June of 1785 (also in Northampton County, North Carolina.)
In his Will, Benjamin mentions his wife (whom he does not name) and their children Thomas, Benjamin, Etheldred, Arthur, Frederick, Moore, Mary, Elizabeth and Milley (possibly Mildred or Millicent.) It would also appear from his Will that Benjamin had another daughter who married into the Ricks family (Benjamin mentions her son Davis Ricks); he also mentions his grandson Benjamin Futrall.
