Alice Esther Hicks, 72, of Indiana, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at her home. A daughter of Arthur and Florence Shank Ray, she was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Indiana. She was employed as a seamstress by Campus Sportswear for 23 years and had also worked in the housekeeping '"• department , of 'Beacon Manor Nursing Facility before her retirement. Mrs. Hicks enjoyed gardening and homemaking. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Bayne Hicks; four daughters: Florence Smith and her husband Gary, of Reynoldsville; Louise Jean Hicks of Reynoldsville; Sandra Palmo and her husband Vaughn, of Creekside; and Mary Hicks of Indiana; a son William, of Indiana; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers: Donald, of Latrobe; Richard, of Florida; LeRoy, of Indiana; Harold, of Greensburg; and two sisters: Florence Ray of Black Lick and Mary Zbignewich of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward.
